After a short stint on United Artists Records, Billie Jo Spears moved over to Capitol in 1966. Three years later she had a Top Five smash with “Mr. Walker It’s All Over.� Billie Jo Spears hung around the charts for several more years without any sizable hits until 1975 when, back on United Artists, she had a major #1 Country hit with a romantic up tempo song called “Blanket On The Ground.� Over the next half dozen years Billie Jo Spears was a regular on the charts, and every so often she’d come through with another radio hit. Her bold, distinctive Country delivery made Billie Jo Spears a Country mainstay throughout the latter half of the ‘70s.
